Our Story

The Curtis-Britch Funeral Home, Inc., doing business as Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Homes, was founded in 1894 on the Lake Road in Newport by Byron and Augusta Curtis, continued by their son and his wife, Justin and Frances Curtis, and is now owned by Roland N. Britch, Jr. In 1986, a branch funeral home was opened in Island Pond, Vermont.

Then, in November of 2001, Roland purchased from Service Corporation International of Lufkin, Texas, the former Converse-Rushford Funeral Homes located on Darling Hill in Newport and Elm Street in Barton, Vermont. In 2012, he purchased the M. R. Davis Funeral Home in Craftsbury Common, Vermont, from his good friends Bob and Louise Davis. It is now named Curtis-Britch-Davis & Bouffard Funeral Home. In 2018, Richard R. Bouffard became co-owner. All four locations are now named Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Homes.

Because education is paramount to Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Homes, we follow all regulations set forth by our profession and endorse the Mortician's Oath when we are called upon by a family.
