On September 8, 2026, Robert Leroy Corkins passed away peacefully to reunite with his late wife, Wendy. Bob or Bobby as he was known to all was born May 20, 1943, to Julian and Irene (Lemere) Corkins. He was born 4th of 9 children and was the first-born son.

Bobby met his lifelong sweetheart, Wendy, in high school. They married in 1965 and along came two daughters: Shari Lee in 1968 and Jennifer Jean in 1970. His daughters grew up learning to fish and garden from Dad as these were two of his favorite past times. He also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and woodworking. The girls also learned a strong work ethic from their Dad as well as a love for the outdoors.

Bobby worked multiple jobs to support his family. He worked in insurance, factory inspection and ended work life as a bus driver & janitor for Derby Elementary School. He also worked odd jobs on the weekends.

Bobby is survived by his daughters and their significant others; Shari and Randy Hancock, and Jennifer and Rene Daigle. He has two grandchildren, Travis Letourneau and Ashley Daigle, and great grandchild, Rangeley Letourneau. Bobby was a man of few words, but always showed his love for his family.

He is also survived by his brothers; Keith, Kenneth and Richard Corkins and sisters; Betty, Judy, Gail and Sandy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister Shirley and his wife Wendy.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Derby Line Village Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Richards officiating. If friends desire, memorial contributions in Bobby’s name may be made to the Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Society, 243 Woods Farm Road, Newport, VT 05855.
