Jane Ann Greenwood

Jane Ann Greenwood, 87, of Newport, VT passed away on October 27, 2026 in Newport, VT. She was born on June 10, 1939 in Newport, VT to the late Joseph and Rose (Chaloux) Greenwood.

Jane worked as a cook for North Country Hospital for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and always found joy in giving her finished work away, she always loved her many cats that she would have. Jane was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newport for many years.

She is survived by her nephews Jean Paul Fournier and his wife Debra, Maurice Fournier, great nephew Joseph Fournier and his wife Callie and their children Mason, Ivan, Makenna, her niece Ann Marie Firkey and her husband Ronald, she is also survived by her partner and dearest friend Richard Ste. Marie as well as her long time friend Laura Bouchard.

She was predeceased by her sisters Hectorine Osborne and Edna Greenwood, as well as her brother-in-law Walter Osborne.

Friends may call from 9:30- 10:30 on Friday November 6, 2026 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 37 Lake Road, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday November 6, 2026 at St. Mary’s Star Of The Sea Catholic Church in Newport where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
