Dorman Durivage Sr.

With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Dorman Durivage, Sr., 88, who left us peacefully on October 11, 2026, with the comfort of his family close by.

Born in Lowell, Vermont, to Ralph and Effie (Warner) Durivage, Dorman lived most of his life in the Northeast Kingdom. He shared 67 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Nancy (Crowe) Durivage, and they were blessed with three children.

He is survived by his wife and children: Dorman Jr. "Buzz" and his wife Jeannette, Randy and his wife Laurie, and Denise and her husband Peter Gariepy. He was an incredibly proud and devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren: Josh Durivage (Ristina), Jenna Corliss (Christian), Jayla Raleigh (Kellan), Dave Durivage, Thomas Durivage (Kerrianne), Samara Miller (Dave), Hannah Pelletier (Cody), and Nathan Gariepy. He was always excited to watch his family grow, welcoming eleven great-grandchildren who brought even more joy to his life.

Dorman truly loved the outdoors and embraced everything the Vermont landscape had to offer, especially hunting and sugaring. He was the proud owner of Dorman’s Autobody, an honest, hard-working small business where he truly valued his many loyal, repeat customers. He and Nancy shared a passion for adventure, traveling in their RV to 49 U.S. states, with Alaska holding a very special place in his heart, as well as spending many winters in Florida. He looked forward to camping with his family and thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and outdoor games with his grandchildren. Above all, he cherished daily walks with Nancy and their dog, Bailey, and served as the ultimate family storyteller. Dorman selflessly helped each of his children build and renovate their homes, demonstrating his resourcefulness throughout the building process. His legacy lives on in the structures he built and the countless memories he shared.

A family gathering will be held to honor Dorman's life in the future. If desired, memorial donations may be given to the Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter at 4473 Barton-Orleans Rd, Orleans, VT 05860 or through their website at frontieranimalsociety.com.
