Brent Carlos Willey

Brent Carlos Willey, 70, of Troy, Vermont passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2026 at his home. He was born on September 21,1956 in Newport to the late Ella (Judd) Willey and Harold Willey, Sr.

On August 11, 1979 he married the former Judith Ann Mercy who survives him.

Brent graduated from North Country Union High School in the class of 1974. After High School Brent spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy. His time was served as a Navy SeaBee in the Construction Battalion. He helped build the U.S. Naval Bases in Cuba, Diego Garcia, and Guam. He was employed as a truck driver for Poulin Grain for 39 years. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed gardening, watching the Boston Red Sox, hunting, fishing, birdwatching and working in the yard on his tractor.

He is survived by his wife Judith Willey of Troy, Vermont, by his children: Sarah Willey and her husband Zeb Overton, and Vanessa LeBlanc and her husband Jereme LeBlanc, by his grandchildren: Kingston Carey, Harper LeBlanc, Luna Overton, and Zoe Overton. He is also survived by his brother Roger Willey and his wife Deborah.

He was predeceased by his siblings: Bruce Willey, Larry Willey, David “Butch” Willey, Wayne Willey, Donald Willey, Dale Willey, Harold “Sonny” Willey, Jr, Paul Willey, Marilyn Curtis and by his father-in-law Gordon Mercy.

A graveside service will be held on Monday September 28, 2026 at the Mountainview Cemetery in Lowell at 12 Noon with full military honors. A reception will follow at the North Troy American Legion, North Troy,VT. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, 215 North Main Street, White River Junction, Vermont 05009.
