Wilfred "Woody" T. Sheltra, Sr. 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31,2026 in Derby Line, Vt. Woody was born on June 27,1940 in Lowell, Vt to Theodore V. Sheltra and Ellen C. Caswell. He was an army veteran from 1958-1963 as a "Lt Weapons Infantryman" when he was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4 (E4) for his service.

He is survived by his brother, Paul Sheltra by his sisters, Phyllis McBride and Judith Blanton. His children, Bernadette Sheltra, Mary Sheltra, Wilfred Sheltra, Jr, Pamela Hopp and Steven Sheltra. Along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Ellen Sheltra, and by his brothers, Everett, Charlie and Phillip and his daughters, Debra Tefft and Elizabeth Sheltra-McMullen.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services, and his ashes were spread on Lowell Mountain where he was born and raised.
