Sherry Lantagne, 78, of Newport, Vermont passed away on June 11, 2026.  She was born on August 29, 1947 in Morrisville, Vermont to Howard Byers, Sr and Bernice (Tuthill) Byers.  On June 10, 1972 she married Donald Lantagne with whom she shared many devoted years until his passing in 2000.

Her greatest accomplishments were not measured by titles or achievements, but by her incredible strength.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo, Pokeno, cards and sitting on her porch. She leaves a family that will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her children: Linda Marsh and husband Mark, Carmen Lantagne, by her siblings: Howard Byers, Jr and his wife Helen, Holly Byers, Robin Comstock and husband William, and  Scott Byers and his wife Marsha. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Meagan Perry and husband Nick, Mark Marsh, Jr and fiancé Amy Therrien, by her great grandchildren: Grace, Abilene, Emmit, Hudson and Myla and by her sister-in-law Janice Jacobs Lontine and by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Lantagne, her parents: Howard Byers, Sr and Bernice (Tuthill) Byers, her sibling: Steven (Gummy) Byers and by several brothers and sisters in-law.  A graveside service will be held at the family's convenience.
