Obituary

Robert Laramee, 72, passed away at home on January 11, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1953 in Newport to Theresa (Rondeau) and Jean-Paul Laramee. Robert is survived by his loving wife Cindy (Standish) of 41 years, his three children and their spouses, Curtis & Heidi Laramee, Chad & Samantha Laramee, and Amanda & Tyler Blake; his six beautiful grandchildren—Acer, Easton, Josie, Emma, Rayna, and Korbin; his siblings Ernest, Andre, Maurice, and Carmen and their families, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws, Malcolm & Bernice Standish; his sister Denise (King) and his brother Richard "Moose" Laramee.

Robert worked at B&D Supermarket in North Troy for 25 years. He was a "Jack of all Trades," but he excelled as a butcher. He spent the remainder of his career at Poulin Lumber, where he earned the reputation as the best dispatcher anyone could ask for. His uncanny ability to recall random truck routes and inventory numbers was legendary. He made many special friends during his career.

Later in life, Robert happily transitioned into his favorite role of all: full-time babysitter and "Super Grampy." His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and there was nothing he loved more than spending time with them. Robert took great pride in everything he did. He found joy in tending his massive vegetable garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with others. He kept a crystal-clear pool and was known as the "Pool Police."  He had a meticulously groomed lawn, and even waxed the lawn mower. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, BBQing, spending time with family and friends, and attending Church amongst other things.

Above all else, Robert was one of the kindest, most caring, and genuinely delightful people you could ever meet. His heart was bigger than anyone could imagine, and there wasn't a soul who didn't like him. He was one of a kind and was taken far too soon. He will be missed dearly. We are all truly blessed to have had Robert in our lives. There will be a church service followed by a celebration of life later this spring allowing more family and friends to gather and honor the remarkable man he was. Shall his memories be kept within all the hearts that cared about him, and his crumbs never be fully swept! On-line condolences are welcome at curtis-britch.com.
