Richard Dexter Taylor, 99, of West Glover, Vermont, passed away on August 6, 2026 in St. Johnsbury, VT. He was born on October 20, 1926 in Orleans, VT, to Clement and Mary (Sheltra) Taylor.

Richard was a dairy farmer all of his life. He bought the farm in 1952 where he lived to the end. He lived life simply and well preferring to spend time on the farm, haying, sugaring, and cutting wood. Richard was a lifetime Parishioner of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Barton, Selectman for the Town of Glover, Sugar maker, President of the Sno-Hawk snowmobile club, and served on the committee for the Parent Teacher's Association in West Glover. He was especially proud of the many awards for his maple products from the Vermont Farm Show held annually in Barre.

Richard was known for his integrity, hard work, and faith. He passed his strong work ethic, honesty, and values on to his family. He enjoyed old Westerns and country music, especially Johnny Cash, and loved practicing his yodeling while milking cows. He also loved sharing stories from his childhood and the many experiences of his life.

A first for the Taylor Farm was the recent wedding of his great grandson held on a hilltop overlooking the farm and the panoramic view. Richard attended and was delighted to spend time with family and many friends.
