Richard Marcel Lavoie, 69, of Island Pond, Vermont passed away on July 15, 2024 at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction, Vermont.  He was born on August 22, 1954 in Newport, Vermont to Marcel and Theresa (Caron) Lavoie.

Richard entered the United States Marine's in 1976.  His hobbies included woodworking, coin collecting and research of pennies, and also spending time with his family.

He is survived by his siblings: Ronald Lavoie and his wife Dena, Michelle Osborne and her husband Butch, and Karen Moulton and her husband Steve, by his nieces and nephews: Desiree, Jenny, Lindsey, Ryan, Brittany and Miranda, Tiffany, Steve and Samantha and by his cousin and very special friend Dave and his wife Theresa.

He was predeceased by his parents.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 20, 2024 at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Island Pond at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. James Butt officiating. Full military honors will be held.
