Raymond Ernest Bathalon

April 29, 1949 – September 22, 2025

Raymond Ernest Bathalon, 76, of Troy, passed away suddenly on September 22, 2025, doing what he loved as a faithful steward of the land.

Raymond was born on April 29, 1949, in Charlotte, Vermont, the son of Ernest and Jeanne Bathalon. He grew up in Westfield and dedicated his life to farming, working as a dairy farmer for many years and continuing to remain active in agriculture even into retirement. His hard work, strong values, and love for the land shaped both his family and his community.

He married his beloved wife, Lillian Létourneau, with whom he shared 54 years of love and devotion.

Beyond farming, Raymond found joy in watching Indian Fever basketball games and spending winters in South Carolina.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Jeanne; his brother, Marcel Bathalon; and his son, John Bathalon.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Lillian; his children, Marc Bathalon and wife Sheila, Allan Bathalon and wife Karen, Gilles Bathalon and wife Kelly, and Emily Lefebvre and husband Aaron. He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Lucien, Jean, Richard, Pierre, Jake, Guy, Dennis, Robert, and Bernie, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him deeply.

A funeral service to honor Raymond's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Troy.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the ambulance service and North Country Hospital for their care and support for Raymond and his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. André Bessette Parish in Troy.

Raymond will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, hardworking farmer, and cherished friend. His legacy lives on in the family he loved and the land he tended.
