The spirit of Peggy Ann Duckless departed her Earthly body at home in Newport, VT with her son Alex by her side on Nov.10, 2024. She was born to Arland James Duckless and Doris Lucille (Kullman) Duckless on Jan.2, 1950. Peggy is survived by her sons Alex and Micah. Also her siblings, sister & best friend Ruth Ellen of Derby and brothers James of Derby and Michael of Newport. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and their families.

Peggy was born walking her own path. This often led to unfortunate circumstances and she often felt alone. But Peggy had a heart full of love for her sons and extended family. A lover of Nature and the outdoors, Peggy especially cared about her many dogs over the years. She was also a lover of horses. A cowgirl at heart. She enjoyed reading and learning, especially about the natural world. She gardened every year and always had a house full of plants.

Peggy was a Veteran, serving in the USAF from 1974 to 1977.  She greatly appreciated the help from the VA, especially Kathryn who was her caseworker. The caring shown by all the staff at the Newport VA office gave her comfort in her final days.

In recent years Peggy adopted the Hindu beliefs. She felt they most appropriately matched her personal beliefs.

The years were hard for Peggy but if you spent happy times with her and heard her laugh you couldn't help but be happy too. She left us too soon and will be missed. We know that her suffering is over and hope that her spiritual energy finds a better life wherever she has gone.

A Committal service of her ashes for family will be held at the Family Woodlot Burial site. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Sunday Nov. 24, 2024 at the Newport Senior Center in the basement level of the Newport Municipal Building  at 1PM.
