Obituary

With great sadness, that Olive White has passed away at the age of 94 on March 27,2026 at the Union House in Glover with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was the daughter of Luger and Edith Daigneault who predeceased her many years ago. In 1960 she married the love of her life, Ronald Joe White, and together they adopted Kevin and Heidi. Joe Passed away in 1973. leaving Olive with two children to raise . After Joe passed away her son Kevin came down with epilepsy, and she was a very dedicated mother who traveled just about to the end of the Earth and back to seek medical attention and solutions and or even a cure for him, eventually placing him in a residential facility for many years which resulted in and required many hours of driving to visit often. Olive was a very independent single Mom , while caring for her children she also cared for her mother ( Edith) who declined after losing her husband (Olives father) in the 1970's . Olive managed to hold down a full time job as an inspector at Slamon Skiwear for many years and also was a volunteer for the American Lung & Heart Association, and she belonged to various groups and volunteered thousands of hours at North Country Hospital . She was a full-time substitute teacher at Enosburg High School while residing in Enosburg .She again found happiness when she met Ralph Longley of Berkshire. He played a very important role in her life, both her partner and a father figure . Memories are treasured forever. In 1989 after Heidi got married, Olive moved to Berkshire and together they made memories. Sunday drives , anywhere Olive wanted to go. He took her with no fuss .Traveling to Las Vegas for a vacation with Ralph , which she talked about for years. Driving to Booth-Bay Harbor with Ralph and "the green van". That was her favorite place to visit, the beloved ocean ,Steve and Heidi were able to fulfill Olives wish to travel to Maine to visit one last time in the fall of 2025. Olive had a strong religious faith . It was her faith in God that carried her through many of life's more challenging times. She was a member of Saint Mary's Star of the Sea. After her son Kevin passed ( from many health issues) she declined in health. She resided at the Union House in Glover until the time of her death.. She is survived by her daughter, Heidi and her husband Steve of Newport. She is survived by her granddaughter, Emily Mayo and her fiancé Stephen Richer of Essex Junction. She is survived by two great grandchildren Ryan and Paige Richer. Sister-in-law Gloria Choquette of North Troy, Vermont . She is  survived also by Roger & Shirley Longley of Saint Albans whom she considered her brother and sister-in-law. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Randy Choquette and his wife Cris of North Troy, Wendy Choquette of North Troy Sharon Larose of Enosburg. Judy Roberge and her husband Scott of Stowe. A very special Cousin, Louise Brochu of Agawam , Massachusetts. She is survived by Leisa Longley LeClair and her husband Fred of Newport. Her long lifetime friend Doris, Poirier of Barton. Estelle LeBlanc of Newport. She survived by many more family and friends who played a very special role in her life. She was  predeceased by her first husband Joe , son Kevin White of Newport by her partner for many years Ralph Longley of Berkshire and her brother-in-law Roger, Choquette of North Troy her nephew, Andy Larose of Enosburg, her sister Claire Roberge, and her husband Richard of Enosburg. The family wishes to think the staff at the Union House. And to Dr. Maria ,Fatigati who all went above and beyond to make her stay there a happy and healthy one. Big thanks to Cindy Sanville & Rev Rick Menard & his wife Carmen for being there with prayers, just a short time before she passed away for always there when we needed you & Dina for always making her feel so beautiful. She is also survived by Steve & Heidi's former neighbors Linda & Larry Atherton, who played a significant role and making her feel like one of the family, Marsha and Bob Descheneau for calling her Edith & taking Bobs quarters, these were memories that stayed with her for many years.
