Olen Givens
Iii
Oct 22, 1966 — Aug 24, 2026
Olen Givens III, 59, of East Charleston, Vermont, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Monday, August 24, 2026.
Olen was a gifted artist and musician, a man of deep faith, and someone whose warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched many lives.
A graduate of UMass Boston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, Olen found many ways to share his creativity with the world. In 2000, he founded his art business, Space Globes, where he spent more than two decades creating beautiful glass sculptures and stained-glass windows. His distinctive work, filled with color and imagination, can be found in galleries throughout New England.
Music and faith were at the heart of Olen's life. He served as a church music leader and loved sharing both his music and his faith with others. He was especially cherished at local nursing homes and churches, where he played hymns and offered companionship, comfort, and joy. For Olen, music was more than something he loved—it was a way of connecting with people, lifting their spirits, and giving something of himself.
Those who knew Olen will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his creativity and kindness, and the joy he could bring to an ordinary moment. He had a gift for making people laugh and for making them feel welcome. His legacy lives not only in the beautiful art he created, but in the countless moments of music, friendship, faith, and laughter he shared so freely with others.
Olen is survived by his sister, Amy and John Syiek of Littleton, MA; Laurie Zupkofska of Weymouth, MA; and his nephew, William Givens-Hall and his wife Allison Bloch of London, England and a large extended family and friends.
Olen leaves behind beauty he made with his hands, music he shared from his heart, laughter that will be remembered, and a faith that guided his life. May all of these—and the love he gave so generously—live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
