Obituary

Nancy (Leitch) Sheltra, 54, of Morgan, VT passed away on September 30, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 29, 1969 in Sherbrooke, Quebec to the late Ross and Beverly (Bronson) Leitch.

Nance was a spitfire her entire life, but the ones that knew her loved her unconditionally.

She enjoyed watching the birds, going to the ocean, camping, shopping and she loved her dogs. Her favourite flowers were pink roses and white lilies.

Christmas was a special time to her; from cooking Christmas dinner and the family's favorite pineapple squares, to finding that perfect gift for her grandchildren.

Nancy loved family gatherings, and always had time for her many friends that gathered around her table.

One of Nancy's incredible strengths was taking care of her parents during their illnesses. This was a testament to the beautiful, caring person she was.

When she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2009, she never stopped smiling and never gave up on staying connected with family and friends. She was blessed to have Richard by her side through her many health challenges. He was her everything and her true soulmate.

Nancy is survived by her life partner Richard Handy Jr., daughters Ashley Lussier, Jessica Lussier, Krysten Lussier and Cassie (Boomhower) Barlow. Her brother Jamie Leitch, wife Lynne (Turcotte) Leitch and niece Katie. As well as stepsons Christopher Handy, Patrick Handy and wife Meghan (Szelog) Handy. Her beloved grandchildren are Gabriel, Kohen, Maverick, Noah, Kiarra, Aurora, Aktavia, Xavier. Nancy will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road (Sias Ave) Newport, Vt. on Friday October 6, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. A private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that everyone plant a pink rose bush and when it blooms, they can think of Nancy. Online condolences may be made at curtis-britch.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home & Cremation Service, locally family owned and operated.
