Michael Bryan
Cheney Jr.
Jul 24, 1981 — Apr 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Bryan Cheney Jr., who passed away on April 14, 2026, at the age of 44.
Mikey was born on July 24th, 1981, in Delray Beach, Florida, and grew up in Newport Center, Vermont, where he built the roots and relationships that defined his life. He lived a life driven by hard work, loyalty, and love for the people around him. He was a funny, loving, loud, and hardworking man who would light up a room the moment he walked in. His big personality and unmistakable presence made him someone you never forgot. His stubborn streak was well known, but it was that same determination that made him strong, dependable, and someone you could always count on.
He had passion for the outdoors, especially hunting. If you needed Mikey in November, you would find him in the woods—that was his place. Whether in the woods or spending time with family and friends, Mikey valued the simple things in life and the people he cared about most. He was the guy you called—the one who wasn't afraid to speak up or show up to have your back. He was loyal to the ones he loved and was always there when it mattered.
Above all else, Mikey was a proud father. His daughter, Aubrey Cheney, was his whole world. The love he had for her was unbreakable. She was his greatest joy—he talked about her all the time and was so proud of her.
Mikey is survived by his loving mother, Laurie Cheney; his father, Michael Cheney; his sister, Brandy Cheney; his brother, Darby Cheney and sister-in-law Jamie Cheney, and their children Grayson Cheney and Monica Hay; his beloved daughter, Aubrey Cheney; his nephew, Bryan Goodell and his girlfriend, Kylie Wing, and their child, Oakley; his fiancée, Angie Wiley; his step-sons, Brendon Cote and Devin Cote. He will be dearly missed by his large and close-knit extended family.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his big heart, his loud laugh, his sense of humor, and the way he lived life on his own terms. Though he is gone too soon, the memories he created and the love he gave will never fade.
The woods will never be the same without him, but his presence will always be felt in every step taken there and in every memory shared.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Online condolences are welcomed at curtis-britch.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home & Cremation Service, locally family owned and operated.
