Martie Louise Shatney, 74, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the UVM Hospital in Burlington, VT.

Martie is survived by her husband, Michael Shatney of Barton VT; her son Eduard LaBonte and wife Kimberly of Lancaster, NH; her daughter Melissa Ericson and husband Josh of Belvediere IL; her daughter Melinda Highers of Richlands, NC; her sisters Kathleen Voges and husband Steve, Laura Capatosto, Lynne McClure, of Long Island, NY; her brother Charlie LaBonte of Harpswell, ME; her 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Martie was a woman who had a big heart, who can be remembered best by always having an open door to anyone in need. She will be sorely missed by anyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Curtis Britch Funeral Home at 12 Elm St., Barton, VT 05822 on Friday, September 15th from 3 PM TO 5 PM.
