Marjorie J. (Hume) Phillips

December 22, 1939 - December 18, 2025

Marjorie J. Phillips, 85 of Barton, Vt. passed away after a short battle with stage four Renal Cell Carcinoma. She was born in Newton, Massachusetts to Harry R. Hume and Susie (Eisnor) Hume.

Marjorie graduated from Framingham High School in Massachusetts. Over her lifetime she loved spending time with family, she had a love of Red Sox Baseball which was shared with her father. She loved country music - especially George Strait. She also loved fishing, knitting, crossword puzzles, playing cards, making puzzles, going to yard sales, making things with plastic canvas, and was a member of the American Legion.

Marjorie is survived by her 5 children and their significant others: Terry Royston (Edward Kendall), Kenneth Leighton, Leslie Leighton (Carroll Humphrey), Richard Leighton (Carol Sykes), and Luann Tenney Therrien.

Her grandchildren: Laurie Boynton, Joseph Royston, Jeramie Gray, Leann Worth Leighton, Blake Leighton, Amanda Little, Joshua Narwid, Seager Therrien and Baily Therrien.

Her great grandchildren: Tory Mason, Christian Royston, Rachel Mooney, and Emily Royston. Also great great grandchildren Matthew Royston and Lyla and Sadie Turgeon.

She is also survived by her brother Douglas Hume and his wife Faye Willey Hume of Sheffield, Vt, her ex-husband Richard Leighton also there are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters: Marie and Betty, two brothers: Robert and Richard, three sons-in-law: Dale Royston, Konrad Gray and Steven Therrien, two ex-husbands: Howard Tenney and Gibson (Dean) Phillips, a grandson Thomas Royston and a great great grandson Dale Royston-Marcy.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
