Marcel O. Faucher

Marcel Omer Faucher passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Tarpon Springs, Florida, after an illness.  He was 86 years old.

Mr. Faucher was the son of the late Jean-Thomas and Annette (Brouillard) Faucher.  He was born in Lowell, Vermont, on September 18, 1939, and spent the majority of his life in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  He was raised on his parents' dairy farm and was a communicant of Saint Ignatius Church in Lowell, and then Sacred Heart of Jesus parish when he moved to Troy.  He spent the last few years of his life in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Marcel worked at the asbestos mines in Lowell, and in the Ethan Allen furniture manufacturing plant in northern Vermont.  He was an avid outdoors person and he  loved spending time outside working on his land and ski-bobbing.  He loved animals, especially cats, and spent many years maple sugaring.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his sister Jeannine Rancourt and her husband, James Rancourt, Ph.D., of Tampa, Florida, and their daughter, his niece, Diana Rancourt, Ph.D., and her husband, Anthony (TJ) Filippino, also of Tampa.  In addition, he leaves behind many cousins and friends in Vermont and surrounding states.

Visitation will be at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 37 Lake Road, Newport, Vermont, on Friday evening, December 12, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Troy, Vermont, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marcel's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
