Obituary

Marc H. Morin

September 29, 1960 – September 23, 2026

With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of our dear brother, Marc H. Morin, on September 23, 2026. He joins our siblings Donald, Claude, Yolande, and Normand, who predeceased him. Marc will always be remembered as a genuine, caring brother who embraced life and lived it on his own terms.

Marc was one of twelve children born to strong and loving French-Canadian parents, Leonard and Agathe Morin. The eighth child in the family, Marc grew up on the family farm in Holland, Vermont. From an early age and throughout his life, Marc was intelligent, caring, hardworking, and remarkably resourceful.

Over the years, Marc learned and mastered many skills. He worked for several years alongside our oldest brother, Claude, serving as his right-hand man, and later worked with his brother Gilles and nephew Matthew. Much like his father, Marc knew the “art of making a deal.” Whether he was selling bulk tanks, farm equipment, or just about anything useful, Marc had a natural ability to recognize value, connect with people, and make a deal happen.

Marc was also a self-employed entrepreneur who did trucking, landscaping, painting, mechanical work, and just about anything else that needed to be done. If something was broken, chances were Marc could figure out how to fix it. He was a true Vermonter—independent, resourceful, hardworking, and always willing to put his skills to use. He will be remembered fondly by the friends, family members, and customers who were fortunate enough to know him.

Marc graduated from North Country Union High School in Newport, Vermont, where he enjoyed playing ice hockey for the Falcons alongside his brother Normand. After Normand’s passing, Marc proudly took on his brother’s number #11, carrying it forward in his memory. Number 11 was in good hands.

Marc enjoyed spending time at the Elks Lodge, meeting up with friends and family for pool tournaments, a drink, a good story, and plenty of laughs. He was also a devoted sports fan, especially of the Boston Bruins and the Washington Redskins.

Marc leaves behind his siblings and their partners: Gilles Morin (Lucille), Richard Morin (Helen), Rene Morin, Celine Rathe (Edward), Gerald Morin (Carolyn), Andre Morin, John Morin (Lynn), Bonnie Morin, Timothy Bronson and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. The Elks Lodge community will also remember Marc as one of their own. Marc has left a lasting impression on all those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on October 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line, Vermont, followed by a Celebration of Marc’s Life at the Elks Lodge on Route 5 in Derby, Vermont.

In Marc’s honor and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made by check payable to “Elks Lodge #2155”, P.O. Box 888, Derby, VT 05829-0888. Contributions may also be made by contacting the Elks Lodge at 802-766-8838.

Online condolences are welcomed at curtis-britch.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home & Cremation Service, locally family owned and operated.
