Madeline A. (Big Grammie) Poulin, 97 of Barton, Vermont and formerly of North Troy, Vermont passed away on January 1, 2024 in Newport. She was born August 8, 1926 in Newport, Vermont to Walter and Yvonne (Letourneau) Dunn. On May 12, 1947 she married Laurier Poulin who predeceased her.
She was supervisor for the former Newport Plastics and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in North Troy.
Madeline's hobbies included playing in a bowling league, and playing bingo. She made beautiful quilts for every member of her family and loved to crochet doilies and bedspreads. Preparing meals for the holiday gatherings was a source of delight for her. She enjoyed doing puzzles of all kinds in her later years. She had a knack for sewing and made wedding and prom dresses for her children. Madeline was famous for her chocolate cream pie.
She is survived by her children: Theresa Tucker (Stephen) of Washington, NH, Yvette Wilner (Stanford) of Florida, Beverly Kristick (David) Colorado Springs, Co, Barbara Pouliot (Jocelyn) of Newport Center, VT, Lucien Poulin (Annette) of West Charleston, VT. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by the following brothers: Raymond, Rudolph, Richard, and Harvey Dunn.
Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Monday January 15, 2024 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Derby. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday January 15, 2024 at St. Mary's Star Of The Sea Catholic Church in Newport. On-line condolences may be made at curtis-britch.com.
