Obituary

Lora Lee Chesney 'Putsin', 69, of Coventry, VT passed away on September 23, 2022 in her home. She was born on October 6, 1952 in Newport, VT.

Lora is survived by her loving husband of 46 years of marriage Bruce Chesney, her son Nathan Chesney and daughter Jennifer Chesney, her granddaughter Kaitlynn Bouchard, sister Linda Gingsburg, sister-in-law Roberta Chesney and to her many wonderful nieces and nephews to whom they called Aunt Put. She leaves behind many fond memories with Joanne Warner, Harriet Johanessen and many other dear friends.

She was predeased by her parents Alfred and Alice (Desrouchers) Hinton, Grandmother Maude (Coe) Desroucher, brother-in-laws Marc Gingsburg, Allen Myers, Ronald Chesney and sister-in-law Mary (Chesney) Myers

Lora was proud to be one of the first four students that graduated from NCUHS in three years under the condition that she was accepted into college. She then graduated from Swain School of Design in Newbedford, MA with a degree of BFA. She returned home and worked as an Art Teacher in many local schools through out the county from 1975 to 2004. She traveled and worked at Scared Heart High School, Coventry Village, Lowell, North Troy, Jay/Westfeild, Newport Center, Lake Region High School and North Country High School.

Lora's great loves where her beautiful flower beds and animals,specially her horses. Since a young girl you would always find her riding her horse Princess, then Chance (Huggy) and many other horses she owned and trained through out the years. She enjoyed sharing and teaching her love of horses and started a small horse and art summer camp for kids.

She was active in the community and was a 4-H leader for over 20 yearrs. Lora helped start and run the Animal Barnyard exhibit at the Orleans County fair for over 30 years and helped in the horse shows.

Please join us, family, friends, past students and campers this Saturday, October 1, 2022 for calling hours from 10:00am, service will be at 11:00am at Curtis-Britch &Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Following a potluck gathering at Coventry Community Center in Coventry, VT.
