Leonard (Lenny)
L. Richardi
Nov 17, 1936 — Jan 15, 2026
Leonard (Lenny) L. Richardi of Braintree, MA and Newport, VT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born November 17, 1936 on Granite St. in Braintree. Lenny's life was a testament of love and dedication for his family. He was the son of Frank and Marie (Bella) Richardi. The beloved husband of Shirley Ann (Orr) of 63 years, their partnership of love and values provided a bedrock for the family. Together they raised daughter Sandy Richardi of Derby, VT and son Frank Richardi and wife Michelle of Derby, VT. There was nothing papa loved more than his grandchildren Brendan, and partner Chelsea, Jenna and husband Tom, Angie and partner Henry, Francesca (Frankie), Leonardo (Lenny) and great grandkids Noah, Ben and Malakai. Lenny adored his siblings: Dorothy (Dotty) and husband Jack, Michael (Mickey) and wife Marion, Marie and husband Patrick (Chief), Francis (Fran) and Joseph (Joe) and wife Diane and all of his nieces and nephews had a special place in Lenny's heart.
Lenny was a member of the armed forces, Teamsters Union and Sons of Italy. He worked for Boston Sand and Gravel for almost 50 years, he liked to say he "poured 85% of the concrete on the big dig" as we'd pass through the city of Boston.
Above all, Lenny was a selfless man who always had a smile on his face and made anyone who came in contact with him feel comfortable. His kindness, generosity and willingness to always lend a hand (while adding a bit of advice) was a character hallmark of Big Len's. He always had a good story, a tell you something moment. The only thing bigger than Lenny's smile was his personality, which would fill a room. He was a Braintree legend in sports and well known throughout the town. He adored his wife and family. Our father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, trusted friend was bigger than life and will be deeply missed. We miss you already, love you dad.
A celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
