Joshua Andrew
Cloney
Mar 22, 1983 — Jun 7, 2026
Joshua Andrew Cloney of Newport/Burlington, Vermont passed away suddenly on June 7, 2026, and went to be with his Lord at the age of 43 years old. He was born on March 22, 1983 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Vaughn Malcolm Cloney Jr. and Joni Lynn (Franceskino). He was predeceased by his father Vaughn (June 19, 1956- February 25, 2000) and his step-son Hunter Brown (September 18,2009- August 31, 2010). He is survived by his daughter Meadow Cloney of Derby, his 3 brothers Vaughn Cloney III (and spouse Sarah Comtois) of Derby, Timothy Cloney (and wife Hope Cloney) of Newport, and Buddy Cloney (and spouse Anna Chaffee) of Newport. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Silas Marsh, Naomi Beauvais, Alyssa Blake, Summer Riley, Bailee Lafoe, Brandon Schwarm, Jenna Benware, and Bailey Smith, along with all of their spouses and children. He is also survived by many cousins and his uncle John Cloney and his aunts Lisa Cheney and Fran Russo. He was predeceased by his special uncle Karl Cloney and his Aunt Sarah Clark. Josh lived his life with grit, like an adventurer and a modern day cowboy out on the range. He was an excellent chef as an occupation for many years amongst other trades. He enjoyed fishing, camping, baseball and hanging out with the many friends he made along his path in life. Hopefully most of us will hold onto and remember his sweet side, his big heart, his child-like fun demeanor, his passion and his fortitude. Services will be held on June 27th, 2026 at 3:00pm at The Brownington Center Church on 9 Spirit Road in Brownington/ Orleans, Vermont with Pastor Neal Perry and Timothy Cloney co-officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the church with light fare foods, coffee, water and punch. A celebration of life will follow thereafter at the Eagles Club in Newport at 5:00.
