John Brett Jacobs

February 6, 1963 - May 13, 2024

John Brett Jacobs, father, son, uncle, brother and friend continued his journey to the beyond on May 13th, 2024.

John was born to James and Elizabeth Jacobs, the fifth of nine children on February 6, 1963, in Newport, VT. He grew up at the family home in Derby Line. As a youth, he participated in the local sports programs with friends and family. He attended NCUHS where he played hockey and then graduated in 1981.

As a young adult, some of his favorite memories included his Camaro, pit parties and fun times at Jims Castle with Matthew and other friends. After graduation, he spent many years as a truck driver for Prouty and Miller Inc. In 1989, he moved to Wilmington, VT where he was employed at Catamount Environmental and Charles Staib Construction and the ski areas of Mt. Snow and Haystack.

Johnny as we all called him, returned home to the NEK where showed his admiration for the outdoors by hunting, skiing and snowmobiling. His job as a groomer operator for Drift Dusters showcased his dedication to helping his community enjoy the outdoors just as much as he.

All who had the luxury of crossing paths with Johnny throughout his life knew him as a man who was loyal to his family and friends and always willing to lend a helping hand or share a story with a smile. It is no question that Johnny's most cherished role was being a devoted father to his two beautiful children, Sabina and George. In their younger years, whether it was chauffeuring them to and from sporting events and family gatherings, you could find Johnny standing on the sidelines with a smile on his face, admiring his work of creating these two beautiful kids. His love for them is and continues to be unwavering.

Johnny's spirit is carried on by his daughter Sabina Dasha Jacobs (Noah Ste. Marie) son George Brett Jacobs, his mother Elizabeth Jacobs and siblings Debbie Jacobs (Steve Birchard), Carrie Jacobs (Joe Varney), Laurie Jacobs (Steve Peacock), James Jacobs (Dianne Jacobs), Libby Jacobs, Julie Jacobs (Rick Seguin), Bart Jacobs (Amy Jacobs). As well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

John was predeceased by his father, James M Jacobs, infant sister Lana Marie, and niece Kyra Jacobs Birchard.
