KIRSCH – Jennie Giovanna
Beloved wife of Frank Kirsch of Derby Vermont passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022 at Bel-Aire Nursing Home.
Jennie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, step son Frank Kirsch III and family of Newport Vermont area, sister-in-law Sue Cocchiola of New Jersey as well as several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Larry Burkey, of Louisiana, and family.
She is predeceased by Sister Ann & husband Joseph Sorrentino and Brother Mike Cocchiola and wife Sue of Queens, NY.
Jennie was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 30, 1930, the youngest of three children of Luchia and Carmine Cocchiola. She spent her youth in Queens, NY and graduated from Richmond High School. She began her working career as a typist for Bectel Industrial Company. She later was employed at Caltex Petroleum Company in New York City for many years until relocating to their Dallas, Texas site for three years and finally choosing an early retirement as Caltex's executive secretary and subsequently moved to Derby Vermont.
Jennie shared her executive skills in Vermont as an active member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, serving as secretary and president of the Ladies Alter Society. She became involved in several community activities by starting the Derby Homemakers Club and Birthday Club that was enjoyed by many local women who became long-time friends. She also served as a volunteer at North Country Hospital.
Jennie was known for her gift of hospitality. She loved to cook and bake and shared her goodies with many friends who can attest to her mastering those skills. She also enjoyed knitting, making gifts for many friends and family. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling activities with her husband and friends.
A private service is scheduled and burial at St. Edwards Cemetery in Derby Line Vermont. Jennie will be missed by her family and many friends she blessed over her 92 years of life.
