Jane Louise
(Morley) Lavoie
Aug 30, 1960 — Feb 12, 2026
Jane Louise (Morley) Lavoie, 65, of Brownington, Vermont, passed away suddenly, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to others. She was born in Newport, Vermont, on August 30, 1960.
She married her beloved husband, David Lavoie, on May 24, 1990. Together they made their home in Orleans for many years before moving to Newport, and in 2021 they built their home in Brownington, where they created many treasured memories.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, John and Pauline (Leblanc) Morley; her sister, Nancy Roberts; and her beloved stepdaughter, Kristi Leblanc.
Jane grew up in Orleans and cherished time spent at her family's camp on South America Pond in Ferdinand and at their camp on the shores of Seymour Lake, where she spent countless days swimming, fishing, and nurturing her lifelong love of the water.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Lavoie; her stepdaughter, Jennifer Guillette and her husband Armand, and their children Ryan and Mya; her stepson-in-law, Eric Leblanc, and his children Tristan and Macie; her dear aunt, Madeleine Leblanc, who was like a mother to her; her brothers, John Morley Jr., James Morley and his wife Margie; her special nephew, Scott Morley; and many nieces and nephews and treasured friends, including Joy Trigg, Fawn Carter, Christa Appletree, Chris Maniatty, and Grant Reed.
Jane graduated from Lake Region Union High School in 1978 and went on to earn an associate degree in Sociology with a minor in Business from Lyndon State College in 1980. She later worked as a Production Planner at Tivoly until health challenges led to her retirement.
She found great joy in reading and writing and was deeply committed to helping others. Jane supported members of the military through charitable efforts and faithfully contributed to the Medical Missionaries of Mary, a cause close to her heart. Guided by a strong Christian faith, she lived with generosity, compassion, and a quiet dedication to serving others.
Family meant everything to Jane. She adored her grandchildren—Ryan, Tristan, Mya, and Macie—and treasured every moment spent with them. She found comfort in her beloved cat, Katie, and joy in time spent with loved ones. Jane expressed her love through knitting, creating cherished blankets for her family and friends. Even when faced with health challenges, her generous spirit never wavered.
At Jane's request, there will be no calling hours. A private church service will be held at a later date at St. Theresa's Church in Orleans at the convenience of family and friends. Online condolences may be made at curtis-britch.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, a cause close to Jane's heart.
Jane will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the many quiet ways she made the world a kinder place. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
