Gordon Petit, 85, of Newport Center, VT, passed away on June 5, 2023 at his home. He was born on May 22, 1938 in Coventry, VT to the late Eli and Ruth (Whittaker) Petit. On May 15, 1960 he married Jean Bickford who survives him.

Gordon worked as a logger for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going for rides in the mountains, sugaring, working in the woods, making honey, camping, loved telling jokes and his family was very important to him. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

He is also survived by his daughters Tamara Petit of St. Albans, VT, Pamela Fryberger and her husband Dennis of Yacolt, WA, granddaughter Denise Fryberger, brother Gerald Petit and his wife Mary, sister Betty Petit, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandson Steven Fryberger, brothers Warren, Dave and Sam Petit.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday June 17, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 389 Citizen Road, Newport, VT will William Favreau officiating.
