Gary Joseph Wood, 70, of Newport, VT passed away unexpectedly on January 12th at North Country Hospital.

Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia "Patti" Gibson Wood, stepchildren Scott Klark of West Danville, VT,  Lori Maxim of South China, Maine, and daughter-in-law Margie Klark of West Danville, VT , grandchildren Lilli and Leah Klark and Mya and Kolby Maxim, and his brother Charlie Wood of Winter Haven, FL. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Charles "Bunny" Wood and America "Ty" Caravatti Wood.

Gary was born in Woodsville, NH on February 22, 1953. He graduated from Woodsville High School in 1971, continuing his education at the University of New Hampshire earning a Master's degree in Public Administration and at Franklin Pierce Law Center where he earned his Juris Doctor.

Gary began his legal career with the Office of Richard Poulos in Portland, Maine, later returning to his hometown where he established his law practice.

Gary's greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandchildren. There were family vacations to Florida and Maine each year as well as the time spent on the lake at his home in West Barnet where precious memories were made.

Gary was truly one-of-a-kind and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all who knew him. He may be gone from this world, but his spirit lives on through us.

It was Gary's wish that there be no services.
