Obituary

Dorothy "Dottie" Frances Myers passed away peacefully, at her home in Newport Vermont, on March 30, 2025 at the age of 73. She was born to Mary and Francis Griffin in West Charleston on December 16, 1951.  Dottie married Barry Myers on July 26, 1975 in West Charleston Vermont. They made their home in Newport with their children Andrew and Baylee Myers.

Dottie had many ventures in life, she worked at Slalom and was a skilled seamstress for years to come. Dottie also worked for the Newport school system and for the Vermont state police. Her long-time career was as a police dispatcher for the Newport city police from 1997-2015, upon her retirement. She always enjoyed serving her community and helping others and feeding and baking goodies for her fellow coworkers at the Newport City Police Department and her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Barry Myers, their son Andrew, and his wife Danielle and their children Ruby, Ava and Keegan Myers of Barre Vermont. Their Daughter Baylee Myers and her fiancée Kurtis Johnson of Newport Center. Dottie was born into a large family, she had many brothers and sisters, along with an abundance of beloved nieces and nephews that she also held very dear to her heart.

Dottie was predeceased by her parents, four siblings and their son, Adam.

Dottie loved Lipton tea, Raspberries, baking (especially at Christmas time), searching for recipes, and doating on her children, grandchildren and her great nieces.

A celebration of life will take place at the Gateway Center in Newport, VT on Sunday April 6th, 2025 from 1 pm to 5 pm.
