Darlene Carol
Emmons
Jan 12, 1949 — Oct 27, 2025
Mrs. Darlene Carol Emmons, 76, passed away on October 27, 2025, in Burlington, Vermont, the city where she was born on January 12, 1949.
Born to Leon Mongeon and Margaret Casey (Mongeon), Darlene grew up in the Burlington area alongside her siblings Diane, Dennis and Darryle. Her life was marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep love for her passions.
Darlene ran her own party planning business for several years, bringing joy and memorable experiences to many through her flair for celebration. Later, she worked at the University of Vermont Medical Center before retiring to focus on the hobbies she loved.
She had a passion for home décor and delighted in finding unique treasures on eBay—especially for kitchen remodeling projects. Gardening brought her peace, while raising and showing dogs was a source of pride. Among all animals, none held a more cherished place than her beloved dog Corey.
Darlene is lovingly remembered by her husband Barry Emmons; sister Dianne Deforge and brother-in-law David Deforge; sister-in-law Lois Mongeon, sister-in-law Marsha Mongeon, son Todd Aube and Janet Houghton and family; daughter Amy Saloomey and son-in-law Tom Saloomey; grandson Michael Aube and his wife Vanessa; granddaughter Kara Saloomey; grandson Boh Saloomey; great-granddaughter Kennedy Aube; and several nieces and nephews, Dean, Jon and Natalie Mongeon, Kelli Mongeon, Scott Mongeon, Laura Marcou, Lisa Lavoie.
She was predeceased by her late husband Percy Aube and two brothers Darryle and Dennis.
A viewing will be held on November 8, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Bible Church, 1145 VT-14. A service will follow directly after at the same location.
In honor of Darlene's love for animals, donations may be made to the ASPCA.
