Obituary

Daniel W. Lowell Jr. 73 of Barton, VT passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 2, 1952 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to the late Daniel W. Lowell Sr. and Mary (Tony) Lowell. On February 29, 1988 he married Cathy Willis who survives him. .

Dan had 2 passions in life: his love for Jesus, and his love for his family. He was a man of faith and he was an example for the rest of us. He also loved music and gardening. Dan spent his working life in sales. For many years he worked for American Maple selling maple syrup, a job he loved. He loved talking with people, and having real conversations. He will be missed by many.

Dan is survived by his wife, Cathy (Willis) of Barton, Vt; his sons Robin and his wife Nicole of Irasburg, VT; Daniel Lowell IX and his wife Trish of Waterville, ME.; and Thomas and his wife Heather of Barton, VT; grandchildren Meka and Thomas of Barton, VT; Felicia Croteau of Albany, NY; Brandon Croteau of Orleans, Gabe, Dominic, Chase and Parker Lowell of Irasburg, VT; his sister Maureen Webster of St. Johnsbury, VT; his nieces Stacy Pinsonneault and her husband, Joe; Stephanie Eastman and her husband Donald; his sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Robert Gagnon; his niece Olivia Emrich and her husband Luke, and his nephew Zachary and his wife Rissa.

Dan had a special relationship with his granddaughter, Meka and grandson, Tommy. He loved the goodnight hugs and kisses, and always looked forward to them.

He will also be missed by his two loyal canine companions: Bella, and Wolfie.

He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary Lowell; an infant brother, Dennis; and his brother-in-law, Gordon Webster.

A special thank you to Dr. Hawkins who always made time for Dan and showed care and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday August 1, 2026 at the Morgan United Church, 114 Meade Hill, Morgan, VT, with Rev. Michael Desena officiating. A light luncheon will follow at the church.
