Craig Kurt
Corkins
Oct 17, 1957 — Mar 1, 2026
Craig Kurt Corkins, 68, of Derby, Vermont went home to the lord on March 1, 2026, at his home in Derby, Vermont. He was surrounded by the love of family and friends as he peacefully passed. He was born in Copiague, New York, on October 17, 1957 to Harold Richard Corkins Sr and Dorothy Mae (Reigel) Corkins. Craig was the sixth born of the eight children. On December 6, 2013 he married Mary Westlake, whom he deeply loved.
Craig, also known by the nickname Corky, was a man of nature, he loved watching wildlife on his land. This brought him joy every day. He enjoyed being in the woods, hunting, cutting firewood, and many memories were made fishing on Brownington pond and ice fishing with his grandsons. He loved bonfires with s'mores, watching Baseball and NASCAR and at one time waterskiing, bowling, and playing softball. He had a love for others and a servant's heart. He spent many years involved with the Troy's Lion's Club and VT Special Olympics.
He worked as a machinist for 40 years at Tivoly Inc. (formerly Butterfield) in Derby-Line, Vermont. He was an expert in his craft and enjoyed training new employees. He was a kind, patient teacher dedicated to the success of those he trained. He believed there was always a solution to every problem and this was his approach to life. He had many additional jobs over the years to provide for his family and those to whom he opened his home. Craig was helpful and humorous, a smart donkey some might say. He would pitch in without being asked. He was a good man with a big heart and valued family above all.
