Cheryl Ann LaBounty (Brown), 77 of Canaan, VT passed away on February 5, 2023 after battling multiple health issues.

When Cheryl was a child, she heard the message that Jesus Christ had died on the cross to pay the penalty of sin for everyone who would believe in him and she believed this good news and lived life for her savior.

Cheryl was born on March 15, 1945 in Newport, VT and was the daughter of Hazel Brown and Sydney Brown.

She worked at the plastic factory in her 20's. She then went on to work as a housekeeper for the Border Motel in her 30's. She then became a stay-at-home mom until going into health care in her 40's, working for home health for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and also her church family and her church was a big part of her life. She also enjoyed watching TV especially Hallmark and Christmas movies, eating her ice cream, and knitting and crocheting as she was very talented.

She is survived by her children Betsey Pion and her husband Pierre, Mary Skidgel and her husband Paul and Jeffrey Broe and his wife Kathryn, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, step children Debbie Durgin and her husband Bob, David LaBounty and his wife Lisa, Sharon Payne and Michael LaBounty and his wife Michelle, 14 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren.

Cheryl was predeceased by her parents Hazel and Sydney Brown, her husband Reginald Labounty, Jr, her brother Don Brown, sister Pat Berry, step son Roger LaBounty and grandson Jeffrey Broe Jr.

Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday February 15, 2023 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Derby, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. with pastor Paul Levang officiating.  Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday June 9, 2023 at the Newport Center Cemetery.
