Carolin Joyce McCarthy, 77, of Derby, Vermont passed away on December 3, 2025 in Barton, Vermont.  Daughter of Lillian Smith Eastman and Mahlon Eastman.  On February 14, 1981 she married Raymond McCarthy who predeceased her on December 7, 2014.

She resided in Massachusetts from age 15 to 53 and returned to Vermont to live her retirement with Ray in Derby.

Carolin loved helping people with chores or yard work or anything needed.  She was a very giving woman.  She loved her cats and dogs and saved any animals no matter what kind if she could. She enjoyed playing dice with friends, traveling with family, playing bingo, listening to music and dancing. She adored all children greatly.

She is survived by her daughter Diane M. Ryan, her step children: Laura McCarthy Bartlett, Steven McCarthy, and Rebecca McCarthy. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen Bowen, many grandchildren and several great grandchildren and by her best friend and like a sister Lorraine Farley.

She was predeceased by her son Thomas A. Ryan, Jr, her step son Kevin McCarthy, her brother-in-law Winston Bowen, and by her brother Williard "Billy" Armstrong.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 11, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 37 lake Road, Newport with the Rev. Laurence Wall officiating.  Friends may call on Thursday December 10, 2025 at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the funeral. Graveside services will be privately held in the Spring.
