CARMEN F. GARNEAU

Carmen F. Garneau passed away on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 after a short illness. She was surrounded by loved ones who will miss her so very much. She was 61 years old.

Carmen was predeceased by her parents: Andre and Jeannine (Doyon) Garneau and her sister-in-law Lisa (Roland) Garneau.

She leaves behind 2 brothers: Marcel (Jeanie) Garneau and Roland Garneau and his partner Brenda Grenier; 2 sisters: Carole (James) DeRoehn and Giselle Garneau all of Derby Line, VT and her Spiritual Mother, Ora Hallihan of Concord, NH.

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends both in the U.S. and in Canada.

Carmen was the youngest in the family so she was teased mercilessly but also loved enormously. She taught herself to crochet and made colorful afghans for just about every member of the family. She also knit many mittens, scarves, slippers, etc… and was happy to give those to anyone who needed them. She not only read, but she studied her Bible every day. If you had a question and she didn't know the answer, she would invite you to look it up with her. She read constantly, just about anything she could get her hands on; especially historical books and westerns. She enjoyed visiting with our cousins, Claude Corriveau and Clement Corriveau... and she loved M & M's.

Carmen was a beloved member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 389 Citizens Road, Newport, VT 05855. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the congregation in her name would be appreciated.

A short graveside service will be held for family and friends at the Elm Street Cemetery in Derby Line on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
