Brian Dean Mason, 70 of Derby, VT passed away on December 16, 2022 following a long battle with cancer. Brian was born in Newport, VT to Paul and Verlie (Gagnon) Mason on August 28, 1952.

Brian is survived by his wife Theresa Mason, of Derby, VT; Daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Kevin Kinney of Holland, VT, granddaughters Madison Letourneau Kinney and Tisha Bailey of Holland, VT, granddaughter Mya Bailey of Alburgh, VT; and grandson Braydyn Kinney of Holland, VT; Brian is also survived by daughter Heather Mason of Derby Line, VT and grand-dog Shadow; as well as honorary son Joseph Nelson of Waterloo, New York. Brian is further survived by nephew Peter Mason of Milton, VT, and nieces Paula Pollender of Ludlow, VT, and Jill Chase of Johnson, VT. Brian is predeceased by parents Paul and Verlie Mason; mother-in-law Hazel Williams; brother-in-law Armand Williams; brother Michael Mason; and best friend Terrance "Turbo" Tice.

It has been said that a man's worth is measured by the love he received. If this is the case Brian was made of diamonds.

Brian worked hard his entire life at CP Rail, Ed's Canoe and Boat Parts, and Ethan Allen, among others. He was a jack-of-all trades, and was always looking for the next project or next thing to fix (broken toys were his specialty!). However, when asked what accomplishment he was most proud of he would first crack a joke, and laugh joyously, then would say family. His wife, daughters, and grandchildren were the true pride and accomplishment of his life and his legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on forever.

Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched because of his legacy are welcome to join a celebration of life on December 30, 2022 at the Derby Line Town Hall from 4 to 8 p.m.

Please plan to be as casual as possible as Brian hated dressing up.
