It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Arthur Alexander Bonnell in his home on January 10, 2025. Born March 29, 1931, Art, the flatlander, was a man who "knew a guy who" and who "saw something once" enough times to fill a thousand books, featuring himself as the protagonist that you can't help but love. From the golf course to the ski hill to summer Aquafests, Art was a grateful member of the Newport/Jay community for over 45 years and loved being a part of it. Art's memory will live on in the countless lives his journey intertwined with in the area and beyond. Art lived to the seasoned age of 93, though he had a vitality to him no older than that of an 85 year old. He will be missed immensely, "but hey", as Art would say, "it is what it is". A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
