Andea Mary Peden

December 7,1961-December 15,2024

Andrea Peden,63, of Derby Line, VT. passed away peacefully (with her husband at her side) on Sunday December 15,2024 at the Jack Byrne Center on the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center campus. She courageously battled Metastatic Breast Cancer for 13 years.

Andrea was born December 7,1961 in Brighton MA. to Margaret (Fitagerald) Riley and Joseph Riley. She had a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and worked for Lamoille County Mental Health with children and families. She married Michael Peden on July 27,1996. They had a beautiful, blessed marriage for 28 years.

Andrea loved the Lord and her Catholic faith. She participated in Engaged Encounter, Faith Formation, and sang at mass. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the choirs in numerous plays at The Hyde Park Opera House. She also sang in a group called Alive With Song---all people who were dealing with cancer. Andrea had a big smile and she laughed often. She was such a pleasure to be around! She loved going to Hampton Beach and dancing. She was always the last one off the dance floor. She was an avid reader and a writer. She published articles in cancer magazines.

She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Riley, her mother Margaret (Fitzgerald) Riley, and her sister Louise Riley.

She leaves behind her husband Michael, her sisters Sheila (Halnon), Maureen Riley, her nephew Sean Halnon and wife Stephanie, her nephew Evan Halnon and wife Trixie, her niece Annie and husband Rodgie Beriva, and cousins and friends. She also leaves behind her dog Shadow and cat Penny.

A celebration of Life to honor Andrea's life will be held at St. Edwards Catholic church on Saturday January 18, 2025 at noon.
