Clair J. Stouffer, 70, of Derby, VT passed away suddenly on May 25, 2013 in Newport, VT. He was born on December 8, 1942 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of Clair and Jean (Malseed) Stouffer, Jr. On June 15, 1982 he married Carolyn Rueckert who survives him.
Clair was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a masterís degree. He was a teacher at WestPoint Prep School in Monmouth, New Jersey for many years. He was a member of the Board of VT Farmers markets and he and his dog Eddie were Delta Pet Partners Therapy Dogs. He loved to display at the various farmerís markets.
He is survived by his wife Linn Stouffer of Derby, VT, by his children: Jason C. Stouffer of Houston, Texas, and Ashley L. Stouffer of Newport, VT. He is also survived by his brother T. Bradley Stouffer and his wife Nancy of Holland, VT and by his sister Charon Whitesell and her husband Thomas of Tequesta, FL and by several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
