The Curtis-Britch Funeral Home, Inc., doing business as Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Homes, was founded in 1894 on the Lake Road in Newport by Byron and Augusta Curtis, continued by Justin and Frances Curtis, and is now owned by Roland N. Britch, Jr.In 1986 a branch funeral home was opened in Island Pond, Vermont.

Then, in November of 2001, Roland purchased from Service Corporation International of Lufkin, Texas the Converse-Rushford Funeral Homes located on Darling Hill in Newport and Elm Street in Barton, Vermont. All four locations are now named



Because education is paramount to Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Homes, we follow all regulations set forth by our profession and endorse the Mortician's Oath when we are called upon by a family.

 THE MORTICIAN'S OATH
I do firmly pledge myself in solemn obligation to:

    accord reverent respect to every deceased person entrusted to my care,

    direct my service to each family strictly in accord with their religious affiliation,

    render fairly and considerably a kindly service of respect for the grief of those who mourn,

    take all measures, as approved by Public Health Agencies, to protect the health of my community,

    hold inviolate whatsoever of a confidential nature I may see or hear in the course of my service to mankind.

Presented by the National Funeral Directors Association, this award is the highest accolade given to funeral homes nationwide.
